Star Wars: The Force Awakens is projected to break all box office records and rake in an estimated $615 million upon it’s opening.
Two weeks after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ second trailer, the official character posters have been revealed. Three of the film’s stars, John Boyega, Daisey Ridley, and Carrie Fisher each unveiled their respective character posters over Twitter and Instagram yesterday.

While Harrison Ford, and Adam Driver’s Darth Vader-like Kylo Ren character, also had their own posters, notably missing was Mark Hamill, Mr. Luke Skywalker himself.
Rumors have been swirling about whether or not Kylo Ren is Luke Skywalker’s son, but the mystery won’t likely be revealed before the film’s release.
When asked by the Sydney Morning Herald about Skywalker’s absence, director J.J. Abrams answered, “These are good questions to be asking. I can’t wait for you to find out the answers.”
Since both trailers for the film are also lacking a Luke Skywalker appearance, it’s very likely his character is part of an important plot point.
The Luke Skywalker mystery has only increased Star Wars fever a month ahead of the film’s release.
Star Wars has proved to be a valuable property for Disney since it’s acquisition in 2012. According to MarketWatch, Disney shares have risen 23% since the same time a year ago, and are steadily climbing.
Last night the Country Music Awards (CMA’s) opened the show with a Star Wars themed skit, and later, William Shatner appeared in a Storm Trooper outfit. It was clearly a clever marketing tool by ABC, the network airing the award show, which is also owned by Disney.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18.
