Star Wars character Han Solo is getting his own movie.
The upcoming movie will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, who have recently written and directed successful movies including Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Lego Movie.
The screenplay will be written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan who are a father and son team. Lawrence has co-written three other Star Wars movies including the upcoming Episode VII:The Force Awakens, whilst Joe is known for writing TV series including Freaks and Geeks.
The movie will tell the story of how a young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief and scoundrel we first met in the original Star Wars movie.
Han Solo was famously portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars trilogy, and he will also portray him in Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Speculation is already mounting as to who will be cast as Han Solo in the spin-off, with some suggesting include Jurassic World star Chris Pratt. If Han is cast as a teen, Tye Sheridan of Tree of Life fame, and Anthony Ingruber from The Age of Adaline are popular choices.
Anthony and is known for his outstanding celebrity impersonations as well as his resemblance to a young Harrison Ford.
Meanwhile, rumors are still circulating around who will appear in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Even Episode VIII has people talking already, with Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen believed to be headed London to start filming!
The untitled Han Solo movie is set for release May 2018.
