Jamie Foxx can officially add lifesaver to his resume after saving a man from his burning vehicle.
On Monday night Jamie heard a car crash outside of his home in Hidden Valley California, and he immediately ran out to see what had happened.
He found a truck flipped on its side, on fire, with the driver still inside. Jamie jumped into action, and with the help of another passerby pulled the man from the car before it was completely engulfed in flames.
On Tuesday afternoon Jamie started talking to reporters about the incident.
“As we pulled him out, within five seconds … the truck goes up [in flames]. I don’t look at it as heroic. I just look at it as, you know, you just had to do something. And it all worked out.”
The 32-year-old driver Brett Kyle was not the only one grateful for the save. His father Brad paid a visit to Jamie on Tuesday and thanked him personally for saving his son’s life. In Brad’s words:
“I think we all hope that we can do something when the time is there. But the question is do we act or do we fear our own lives, and he did not. [Jamie] was here when he needed to be here. He was here for my son. And as far as I am concerned, he saved his life.”
Jamie shared a moving photo of the two embracing on his Instagram account.
Brett Kyle was allegedly driving under the influence at the time of the crash and is now recovering from a broken collarbone and punctured lung.
