Today is Earth Day, and Hollywood’s finest are doing their best to draw attention to the need for environmental protection.
It should come as no surprise that Leonardo DiCaprio is an enthusiastic Earth Day supporter – the Inception star has long been an environmentalist and recently signed a deal with Netflix to produce more nature documentaries following the success of his first film, Virunga.
“There’s never been a more critical time for our planet or more of a need for gifted storytellers to help us all make sense of the issues we face,” he said in March.
Today, he has been retweeting up a storm to mark Earth Day.

Likewise, Shailene Woodley is known for her love of the planet and all things natural, which even extends to her beauty routine. The 23-year-old star, who typically shies away from social media, today shared an Earth Day message with her Twitter followers.

Edward Norton is doing his part, too, encouraging donations to the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He’s also reported to be a financial supporter of the Earth Day Network.
Mark Ruffalo, Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Ellie Goulding are among the other well known names taking some time to think about the environment today.
Happy #EarthDay all living systems of this beautiful, spinning, nearly impossible, blue shining sphere.
