Demi Lovato’s at it again, spreading a positive body image message online – and we couldn’t agree more!
The singer shared a photo of herself at the gym on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Don’t train to be skinny, train to be a #badass.”
She followed it up with a poolside bikini selfie.
“Regardless of what society tells you these days… You don’t have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful,” she wrote.
“It is possible to love your body the way it is. #fitness #health #acceptance #selflove.”
Preach it, Demi!
The 22-year-old star has struggled with eating disorder for much of her life, spending three months in rehab in 2010 to work through her body issues, among other things.
She has since been an advocate for healthy body image – this is not the first time she has taken to Instagram with her thoughts on the subject.
Demi also recently talked about her journey towards self acceptance with Fitness Magazine.
“I’ve learned to appreciate my body for what it is,” she said.
