Awkwardness is something many people consider a handicap, but in Hollywood, it’s an important part of marketing yourself when looking for work or trying to create buzz. It doesn’t always work, but there are a few celebrities whose awkwardness has helped them along, like these seven:
1. Mayim Bialik
Mayim only showed hints of strange in her lead role on Blossom in the early 90s, but her true colors have developed and totally shine through now that she’s one of the regular cast members on The Big Bang Theory, playing Amy.
Now, we understand that most celebs are only playing a part, but Mayim took some of her Blossom money and put it to good use, attending UCLA and obtaining her doctorate in Neuroscience in 2007. She wrote a book about parenting in 2012 and is a holistic mom and vegan.
Of course, being smart, vegan, or naturopathic isn’t exactly weird in itself, but Mayim has a certain way about her that is very deliberate and endearingly strange for sure!
